In order to streamline the whole admission process and provide one window operation to thousands of students, in the year 2001, the University of Peshawar established the Directorate of Admissions headed by a Director. The Directorate in a very short span of time managed to computerize the whole admission process. It has, for the first time compiled 3 version of the University Prospectus for Advanced Studies, Post-graduate & Under graduate studies.
The functions of the Directorate are:

To manage publication of University prospectus for Undergraduate, Post graduate and Higher Studies.

To determine Admission schedules and calendars and give them wide publicity.

To deliver admissions-related services to all constituencies both in the public and private sectors of the University of Peshawar.

Collection, Scrutiny and Processing of application forms received for admission to various levels

Preparation of merit lists according to the University admission criteria and their display in the respective departments/ colleges/ centers.

Coordinates processing of applications with concerned University departments.

To insure compliance with admissions standards, policies, and regulations.

In addition, the Directorate also looks after the M.Phil/ Ph D programme being run by the University and actively engaged in dealing M.Phil/Ph.D cases of more than 30 Departments and Centers of Excellence.

To direct other designated management responsibilities such as Migration, Scholarships and Equivalence of Degrees.
