Dear Prospective Students

You are about to join a really prestigious University. University of Peshawar was the first to be founded after the independence, now over five decades old. The University has etched for itself a position of respect in the region and has been rated as the fifth in the country. More than 30 academic disciplines are being taught. The Faculty members ensure quality teaching and research work on the campus. Campus of the University is one with best natural and scenic beauty. The red brick buildings merge beautifully with the green foliage of abundant trees and lawns.

The university has to tailor its scheme of studies with the demands and expectations of the job market thereby preparing students for a career. We also try to give an overall grooming to the students to bring out the best attributes of their personality, especially truthfulness, self-confidence and the ability to express his or her views. This is made possible through extra curricular and co-curricular activities of a dozen of student’s societies and clubs. Students are required to be members of at least one such society/club.

Keeping the above aims in view, the University has set the goal for itself “To love and to serve the entire creation of the Creator”.

Active politics by students on the campus is discouraged. This endeavor is in keeping with decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and with our belief that a very small portion of students try to dissuade the genuine students from their academic pursuits.
